I work at JobThread which is a New York company I co-founded in Nov 2003. At JobThread, we're building an online recruitment advertising platform -- trying to help recruitment advertisers reach the right audience with their job openings.
My background is mostly in online recruitment (Product Manager at HotJobs, Product Development Manager at Bernard Hodes Group and then Product Manager at The New York Times Digital for Job Market). My first job after school was at a bank but that didn't last long.
The work history above followed a pattern of trying to launch a startup, failing, getting a job, trying to launch a startup, failing, etc. And finally arriving at JobThread.
The job market is actually something that I'm interested in and was somewhat lucky to have got into that area as I'm actually pretty excited about adding transparency to labor markets and making them more efficient. It's one of those "At the end of the day" things where at the end of the day, there's a real chance to improve quality of life. Well, enough of that.
Anyway, the main reason I'm starting this blog is to share and collaborate more easily about random things that I'm interested in... So, we'll see how that goes.
